A plastic sleeve tree guard is a protective device that protects the trunk from wind, pests and frost. Our plastic tree guards(also known as corflute tree guards/protector, corflute plant guards) are made from lightweight corflute, a plastic with a corrugated structure for added strength. Corflute is a waterproof material that is extremely durable and designed to protect growing trees from damage.
Young trees can be blown down and uprooted in storms, damaged by hail or frost, run over by vehicles, mowed and eaten by hungry kangaroos, wallabies and rabbits. Not only do tree guards make trees visible from a distance so vehicles, motorcycles, or lawn mowers can avoid them, but they also provide a physical barrier of protection from predators. Tree guards also protect growing trees from accidental spraying with herbicides and create a micro environment that reduces UV rays and increases humidity and carbon dioxide levels around the tree.
The corflute Plant Guard is a very sturdy product made of UV stabilized plastic that is very strong and durable. It can be used multiple times and can be easily installed with just a stake.
Huiyuan pltree guards are very easy to install. After unpacking the flat pack and separating out the individual trunk guards, unwrap each guard to its original shape, such as a circle, triangle, or quad. Then simply slide the guard over the plant so it is on top of the soil and slide the stake down through the guard’s inner collar. Finally, hammer the stake into the ground to hold the guard in place. You can leave the guard in place until the tree grows a guard, then remove it and use it for another new tree to maximize sapling protection.
